Recent government confirmation that the newly updated Code for Sustainable Homes will provide housebuilders with extra credits if they include the Association of Chief Police Officers’ Secured by Design products in their specification has resulted in an increase in sales at patio door manufacturer Sliders UK.

The Preston firm manufacture the Ultimate range, the only patio door to be granted both Secured by Design and BBA status: “We’ve seen a significant increase in enquiries and orders from housebuilders as we are the only manufacturer who can produce patio doors to the required security standards” explains Ian Longbottom, Joint Director at Sliders UK.

Interest in the new patio door is also being shown by local authorities who are keen to ensure that the product forms an integral part of any new build or refurbishment works.

“The research and development work we put into the Ultimate range is really starting to pay off” continues Ian Longbottom “ the range features a new six point lock with pincer-action hooks, Yale anti-bumping cylinder, an improved security handle and a set of interlock protectors and spring bolts that combine to make Ultimate the most secure patio door range on the market”.
