The manufacturer of ‘Ultimate’ Secured by Design patio and bi-folding doors has proudly lent its name to the ‘Crime Prevention Interactive House’, an innovative new web-based interactive guide providing insightful information and tips to help people to maximise the security of their homes.
The interactive house was originally developed by central government's Planning Portal to provide guidance on planning and building control policy but has now been adapted specifically for crime prevention use by West Yorkshire Police.
Impressed by this novel way of presenting crime prevention advice, the Planning Portal is now hoping to make the interactive house accessible via the websites of other UK Police Forces.
However, you do not need to live in West Yorkshire to benefit from this new guide now. Indeed, anyone with access to the internet can visit the external website at www.westyorkshire.police.uk/interactivehouse and click on the various parts of the house (including doors, conservatory/patio doors and windows) to receive instant security and crime prevention tips.
“We are delighted to be supporting the Crime Prevention Interactive House. This initiative is closely aligned with our own commitment to offer the most secure doors and windows on the market,” says Sliders UK Director, Ian Longbottom.
Sliders UK 'Ultimate' patio and bi-folding doors were the first to be awarded official Police Secured by Design accreditation, meaning that they have been both designed and independently tested to the stringent security standards set by the Association of Chief Police Officers.
To date, Sliders’ Ultimate bi-folding doors are the only bi-folding doors to carry the Secured by Design stamp of approval, meaning that in terms of security and crime prevention they are the Police’s ‘preferred specification.’
In addition, as a major manufacturer of vertical sliding windows and more recently composite doors Sliders’ portfolio of Secured by Design approved products is soon to increase.
