The UK’s largest patio door specialist Sliders (UK) Ltd has reported an unprecedented 144% increase in sales of the Ultimate Patio Door – it’s Secured by Design approved patio door range.

“Launching a Secured by Design product at the start of the building industry’s worst recession in memory promised to be an uphill struggle” commented Joint Managing Director Ian Longbottom, “but the results last year were way beyond our expectations”.

Longbottom believes that the company’s success is indicative of a wider trend that will further benefit the Preston based manufacturer;

“We decided to focus on designing and producing the most innovative, secure products on the market and now we’re reaping the benefit as our installer network tells us that security is fast becoming a primary driver of retail sales”.

At the heart of this success has been the Ultimate Patio Door - the first in-line PVC-U patio door that has Secured by Design approval and BBA certification. The Ultimate range features a new six-point lock with pincer-action hooks, Yale anti-bumping cylinder, an improved security handle and a set of interlock protectors and spring bolts, all of which combine to make the most secure patio door on the market.

With an award winning product and such a dramatic increase in sales and market share, you may have expected that the company would rest on its laurels, but nothing could be further from the truth.
