Sliders UK launches new composite door brochure

Sliders UK has launched its new composite door retail brochure as part of its installer support offer.

The Ultimate Collection features a specially selected range of classic, contemporary, stable and cottage entrance doors, designed to meet end-user aspiration and to build in margin and opportunity for installers.

Part Q compliant, these are manufactured in the industry-leading Nan Ya slab from Distinction, combined with a choice of fully reinforced Duraflex and Eurocell 70mm PVC-U outer frames and slim, low line aluminium thresholds with twin seals.

Glass options include a choice of double or triple-glazed options, achieving U-Values as low as 1.0Wm2.K. Standard colours are black, red, blue, green, Gold Oak and Rosewood.

A new partnership with ERA means that all of Sliders UK composites also feature Fab & Fix hardware and a new 10-year HardexPLUS guarantee.

The surface coating technology has been proven to retain surface stability during rigorous prohesion tests. These go far beyond traditional neutral salt-spray accelerated corrosion testing to replicate ‘real world’ conditions in a series of cycled tests.

The guarantee extends to all of Sliders UK’s Fab&Fix decorative hardware. This includes composite door handles, letter plates, knockers and numerals in a choice of chrome, satin, bronze, gold, graphite, antique black, which are also covered for 10 years.

Steve Mines, Sales Director, Sliders UK said: “The HardexPlus 10-year hardware guarantee provides a very powerful retail sales message. Offered as standard on our composite doors in addition to patio door ranges, plus selected bi-folds, we believe it gives our customers a very tangible commercial advantage.

“The composite door sector is forecast for continuing growth but differentiation is increasingly hard to come by. We have a strong core offer and in HardexPLUS and the 10-year guarantee that it allows us to deliver, a very strong retail USP.”

A new report from Palmer Market Research suggest that the market for entrance doors grew by 2.2% to 1.40million doors in 2015. Installed value was also up 7.6% at £692 million.

According, to The Market for Domestic Entrance Doors, composite doors now account for 50% of the market, the share rising to 54% by installed value with the inclusion of PVC/ABS faced doors.

PVC-U panel doors took 25% of the market in both installed value and volume terms, while wood (including engineered timber) took 20% by volume and 15% by installed value. Steel fell to just 46,000 doors.

The study suggests that forecast figures for last year should also be expected to show a modest overall increase in volume.  Within it, there are however, significant gains and losses. Most notably a forecast 22% increase in composite door sales through to 2020.

Mines concluded: “We have a very strong core offer in the Nan Ya slab. Where we as a business add value is in the products that we pair it with, including HardexPLUS guaranteed hardware, and the reliability that we’re able to deliver in supply.

“As a door specialist, we don’t have the distractions of other fabricators, doors are what we do. We’ve increased capacity with a new composite door line and we’re bringing a very compelling product and service offer to market.

“Composite door supply is notoriously unreliable and we’d say to anyone who may have been let down by their supplier to see what we can do for them.”
