Sliders UK listed in UK Top 1000 businesses

By | Press releases | No Comments

Sliders UK has been listed as one of the London Stock Exchange Group’s ‘1,000 Companies to Inspire Britain’.

The high profile study, provides a listing of what the LSE describes as the ‘UK’s most exciting and dynamic small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs)’.

Sliders UK achieves an entry as the only specialist manufacturer in just a handful of window and door companies to have made the cut in this year’s report.

Ian Longbottom, Chairman, Sliders UK, said: “We saw good growth across the full spectrum of our offer last year. This included PVC-U and composite door ranges – and very significant growth in our aluminium inline sliding and bi-folding door offers.

“To have this growth recognised by the LSE is a real achievement. We’re the only specialist manufacturer to feature and it’s a great reflection of the hard work that team here have put. It’s also a reflection on our customers, their hard work and their continuing success.”

Independently compiled, companies listed in the report, have to have shown not just growing revenue over the past four years, but also to have outperformed their sector peers.

Sliders UK reported growth in aluminium bi-folding doors and inline sliding doors of 225 per cent in 2014 compared to 2013. With continuing growth last year, and in volume in its range as a whole, the specialist door manufacturer reported a 10 per cent growth in turnover at its year end in December.

Xavier Rolet, CEO, London Stock Exchange Group, said: “[The report] squashes any notion that the UK is a country that no longer has a manufacturing industry. Almost a quarter of the 1,000 companies operate in manufacturing, construction and engineering, and many within that group are working at the very cutting edge of their industries.”

Offering lead times of just two weeks and a wide choice of PAS24:2012 and Secured by Design accredited products, the Sliders UK model is built around the delivery of an expansive bi-fold, inline sliding, French and composite door offer, from a single point of supply.

To this end it added the Veka Imagine as second PVC-U bi-fold system in addition to its established Eurocell Ultimate Aspect PVC-U offer and an aluminium bi-folding door from ALUK, earlier this month.

This brought the specialist door manufacturers’ tally of new product launches to three in three months, having already added the PremiLine PRO patio door from Kömmerling and the Kestrel aluminium bifold to its market leading offer at the start of the year.

Ian concluded: “We have a very comprehensive offer and we have a real focus on product quality. Regardless of what door our customers want, composite, bi-fold, inline sliding, aluminium or PVC-U, Veka, Eurocell, Duraflex, ALUK – it doesn’t matter we can deliver it from a single point of supply.

“It’s an incredibly strong offer and something which we firmly believe will be a key foundation of our continuing growth going forward.”

Sliders UK has added the Veka Imagine bi-folding door to its rapidly expanding range as part of a commitment to deliver increased flexibility and choice to its customers.

Offering lead times of just two weeks, the launch of the Veka Imagine, gives Sliders UK a second PVC-U bi-fold system in addition to its established Eurocell Ultimate Aspect PVC-U offer and an aluminium bi-folding door from ALUK.

It also brings the specialist door manufacturers’ tally of new product launches to three in three months, having already added the PremiLine PRO patio door from Kömmerling and the Kestrel aluminium bifold to its market leading offer at the start of the year.

Steve Mines, Sales and Marketing Director, Sliders UK, said: “As a door specialist, our strategy is founded on selecting the best systems and bringing them to market. It means that we’re able to offer our customers access to one of the UK’s widest door ranges from a single source of supply.

“The Veka Imagine represents a good strategic fit to this model. It’s a really exciting product with an impressive specification. It gives us greater flexibility as a supplier and allows us to offer our customers additional choice. This flexibility is something which we believe will win them business in 2016.”

The fully suited system is available in 19 different panel configurations to a maximum of seven sashes, closing apertures of up to 6000mm wide and up to 2400mm height. The maximum sash width is 1000mm, while doors can be set to open inward or outward.

Mines added: “The imagine is a really well considered product and like our Eurocell offer, the Ultimate Aspect and is part of a new generation of PVC-U bi-folds to have been launched to the market.

“With far stronger aesthetics and greatly enhanced performance, including new installation efficiencies, they’re redefining the reach of PVC-U and with increased end user affordability, represent a direct challenge to established aluminium systems.”

Reports by independent industry research specialists D&G Consulting and Palmer Market Research predict that by the end of this year, volume sales of PVC-U Bi-Fold Doors will have grown to 28 per cent of the patio/sliding doors market – and 53 per cent by value
